TracFone LG 100c Review
The LG 100c is a nice little budget-priced TracFone device. It has a nice form-factor and a small, pocket-able design. It doesn't have much as far as features go, but it offers enough for the basic cell phone user. It sports a 1.5 inch LCD display and amazing call quality. Besides the call quality, the LG 100c doesn't have much going for it. Still, I personally really like this phone and think it is one of TracFone's best budget offerings.
Hardware:
The LG 100c is pretty darn thin for a budget TracFone. It measures 13 mm thick. It is also exceedingly light at around 2.5 oz. It is constructed out of plastic, but still manages to feel nice in the hand. It comes in two color options; all black or silver with black around the display. I have the all black version and think it looks very stylish and nice. Now lets take a look around the device: on the left-hand side is the volume rocker and 2.5mm headset jack (covered by a plastic flap). On the right is the micro-usb port (also covered by a thin plastic cover). Both the top and bottom of the phone have nothing on them. The back cover has a golf ball texture finish and houses the speaker. Beneath the plastic back cover lies the 800mah lithium-ion battery, which is rated at 2.5 hours of talk time and 10 days of standby. On the phone's front is the 1.5 inch display, numeric keypad, and the LG/TracFone logos. The volume rocker and the buttons that are the numeric keypad feel mushy and don't have very good tactile feedback. The built-in speaker is loud and has nice tones, although it can get distorted at full volume.
What's in the box:

- 800mah battery
- Back cover

Software:
The LG 100c runs TracFone's proprietary operating system. When the device is powered on, you first see the home screen. It look like every other TracFone home screen, with its connectivity icons, time/date, and menu/browser shortcuts. Clicking on the menu shortcut brings you to the usual list of nine icons. I won't go in depth on them because I already have in my LG 231c Review (Refer to that review if you need more information on TracFone's proprietary software). The 100c doesn't have any special software add-ons or features, its just the common software that all basic TracFone's run. Texting is still painfully time-consuming and not very efficient using the numeric keypad. Call quality is breathtaking with the LG 100c. Callers sounded remarkably clear on both ends of the call. It was almost like we weren't calling on a cell phone.
Conclusion:
The Lg 100c is just a basic TracFone. Nothing less and nothing more. It has a nice design that looks pleasing and it's call quality is lovely. If you're a texting or internet hound, then the LG 100c won't be for you. But if you just need a phone to make calls on, then you may want to consider the LG 100c. Its about $10 so you won't have to break the bank to get a decent little cell phone. In the end, I enjoyed the LG 100c and think its one of the best basic TracFone devices.
